Patrick
Sanders.
Canadian marine engineer keeping steel, steam and hydraulics honest — currently on rotation with Phoenix Petroleum Norway.

Engineer by trade, mariner by weather.
I'm Patrick — a professional marine engineer from Canada, currently on rotation with Phoenix Petroleum Norway. My work sits where mechanical engineering meets the ocean: propulsion, hydraulics, power generation, and every stubborn valve in between.
I've spent years on production platforms, drill floors and engine rooms — the kind of environments where a checklist and a calm head are worth more than any spec sheet. When I'm not offshore, home is Ottawa, Ontario.
Selected rotations.
Rotational offshore duty on production platform. Machinery integrity, hydraulic systems, watchkeeping.
Drill floor auxiliary systems, power management, HSE lead on rotation.
Engine room ops, watch systems, planned maintenance.

Where the job actually happens.
Twelve-hour shifts, salt on everything, and equipment that doesn't care what time zone you came from. I like it that way — the ocean gives you honest feedback.
Between rotations,
I answer email.
